Marina Facilities


Cullen Bay Marina is the most popular marina in Darwin. Due to an eight metre tidal range, you must go through a lock system to enter the marina.

Water and electricity (240 volt/15 amp), available on all berths

Chandlery and boat sales services are provided on site

Security/Access
Access to the pontoons, toilets and shower facilities is via an electronic key fob system. Visitors will be issued a temporary PIN valid for the length of their stay.

Toilets and Showers
Toilets, showers and disabled facilities are available. Contact the Lockmaster.

Laundry
Laundry facilities are available at the Cullen Bay Laundromat. The laundry equipment is operated with $1 coins.

Telephones
A payphone is available in the commercial precinct.

VHF Radio
The marina maintains a listening watch on VHF Channel 11. Call sign Cullen Bay Lock.

Water and Electricity
Water and electricity are available on the pontoons. Owners of vessels must supply their own water hoses. Electricity supply is 240 volt 50 htz.

Fuel
Diesel and unleaded petrol is available from the Fuel Berth which is located on the floating pontoon outside of the Cullen Bay Lock. This is a self-serve facility that take both Debit and Credit Cards that are authorised by a pin. For vessels departing Darwin for International Waters, Duty Free Fuel is available. To obtain Duty Free Fuel, the fuel is to be purchased inclusive of duty then later duty is claimed back through Customs. In order for the Master to claim the excise they will need to have completed

Customs will then need to obtain a

  • Copy of the receipt for fuel purchased
  • Copy of Darwin Port Clearance
  • Copy of the approved Form 43
  • A completed Excise Claim Form


These will then be sent to the Australian Taxation Office for processing. Reimbursement of Excise can only be paid by Cheque to an Australian Postal Address, or by Direct Debit to an Australian Bank Account. For more information please call the Australian Taxation Office on 1300 137 290.


Refuse
Large bins are located near the Lockmaster's office and at the Ferry Terminal.

Waste – Oil/Batteries
Waste oil is to be disposed of in the oil drum behind the Lockmaster's office.
Provision is also made for battery disposal, please contact the Lockmaster.

Pump out
A bilge and holding tank pump out facility is available. Contact the Lockmaster.

Trolleys
Trolleys are available at the
Lockmaster's office.


Weather forecasts
Local area weather forecasts are displayed daily on the notice board at the
Lockmaster's office.

Lock times
24 hour staffing, 7 days per week.
Open hourly by request between 6.00am and 11.00pm.  A fee is applicable between 11.00pm and 6.00am.


Car parking
Free Public car parking is available next to and across the road from the Marina.
